High Light Output Double-Ended Quartz Halogen Lamps

THE PRODUCT:

High output double-ended quartz halogen lamps are used for general outdoor lighting purposes (such as in a sports field or yard) and for some indoor uses which require bright white lights. The lamps have a tungsten filament, are between 4 and 11 inches long, and have a diameter less than 3/4 inch.

THE STANDARD:

There are no federal standards for these lamps. Oregon passed state efficiency standards in 2013. The Oregon standards require that lamps with a minimum rated initial lumen value greater than 6,000 and a maximum initial lumen value of 15,000 have a minimum efficiency of 27 lumens per watt. Lamps with a rated initial lumen value greater than 15,000 and less than 40,000 must have a minimum efficiency of 34 lumens per watt.

KEY FACTS:

Infrared heat lamps and lamps for stage and studio are not included in the standard.
